Running from la Migra, an exuberant and determined Reynato slips into the big top and becomes bonded to circus life in an exchange that sends them on a search to find themselves and their place on the stage.
Based on Carmen’s father’s life and Carmen’s personal journey, “Help Wanted” is a clown, mime and shadow play that reimagines and remixes their stories and deals with the failures one encounters looking for success and a moment under the bright lights of the theater.
Carmen Aguilar, also known as Whoopsie, is a Church of Clown's Company member and responsible for all of the Church’s visual identity. You may recognize her as Cosmo from Space Suckers from Outer Space. Help wanted is Carmen’s first solo work and an expansion of her piece High Wire, which debuted at Church of Clown’s 10 Fold Physique Festival.

Carmen is an artist and designer and Whoopsie is her clown. After a decade of navigating the serious realms of design and academia, she stumbled upon her irreverent calling in 2019. A sapiosexual with an affinity for moths, she's now all about oversized clothes, enabling bad habits, and blurting out thoughts before they're fully formed.
